Music of the Inner Soul
By Thomas Van Hook
4 Dec 94 15:10
Bedford, Texas
Soundless notes fly skyward
Riding the gentle West Wind
A concert with no audience
No one would dare attend
...and yet the melody continues
A beautiful and flowing ode
An experience beyond all sense
A sensorium overload
A chorus resumes the ballad
Silent array of chords
Feeding the peaceful void
With all they can afford
The finale is now upon us
A cascading, torrential rain
No matter how hard it pummels
The horrific stillness remains
No instruments or lessons required
A degree need not be your goal
Use imagination and desire
To play your inner soul
Note: People all around the world continually look to various
things to inspire them. Most of those things are found outside
of the person. For people to look inside themselves takes some
form of pain. It is a shame that it takes pain for people to
look where there is ultimate beauty and inspiration. This poem
is dedicated to my good friend Lisa Tamara, who had the courage
and the will to force me to look inside myself two and a half
years ago and find REAL beauty. Wind to thy wings, Wing-Sib.
